Atlanta Radiology Consultants was founded in the 1960s to provide a patient-focused, professional approach to radiology services at Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta (SJH). Throughout our more than 42-year history, we have grown to successfully serve the patients at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, along with other hospital and outpatient partners. Our diagnostic and subspecialty trained radiologists offer years of experience and are among the most skilled practitioners in the field. All of our radiologists are board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, and most have completed fellowships in different subspecialties.

We have also led the way in emerging technologies by investing in teleradiology initatives. Our expansion to freestanding clinics, imaging centers, other hospital departments, and to physician offices is due to our comprehensive teleradiology program. With the increased use of teleradiology and other network-based systems and processes, we offer high quality, subspecialty services to both on- and off-campus clients. This allows our radiologists to view images from multiple locations, resulting in more efficient patient care.

Our staff of 13 highly trained radiologists understands the importance and timeliness of a study to each patient and physician. We know that patients who seek our services are often concerned about their health. They want answers as quickly as possible. Their physicians are just as eager to get results so that they can make a diagnosis. Neel Patel, MD Atlanta Radiology Consultants is pleased to announce that Dr. Fayyaz Barodawala has joined our practice as an Interventional Radiologist. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Barodawala is a graduate of Colgate University. He received his medical degree and did his internship at SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine. He was a resident in radiology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He completed his fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia PA. After completing his training, Dr. Barodawala served as Instructor and Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine from June 2004 to August 2006. After working in private practice for the next few years, including serving as Chief of Interventional Radiology at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY, Dr. Barodawala joined St. Joseph Hospital in December of 2012. He has written and has published numerous journal articles in Interventional Radiology, Neuroradiology, among other topics in radiology. He has also given several lectures about Radiology and Interventional Radiology, including Grand Rounds at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
