Atlanta Radiology Consultants (ARC) was founded in 1966 to enhance radiology services of Atlanta’s oldest hospital, Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta (SJHA) and to ensure a world-class physician and patient focused approach to delivering professional imaging services. Throughout its 45-year history, ARC has continued to successfully provide care to SJHA’s ever-expanding hospital campus through dedicated timely, quality radiology reporting and consultation. With its beginnings at the old St. Joseph’s campus in downtown Atlanta in the 60’s and in moving with the campus in 1979 to its current location on Atlanta’s “Pill Hill,” ARC has worked closely with St. Joseph’s clinical and administrative management to strategically plan for the ever changing healthcare delivery landscape. Today, radiology interpretations can be performed virtually anywhere.

As the scope of radiology services has grown in the past decade and are now offered in freestanding clinics, imaging centers, and in physician offices – well beyond the traditional radiology department, ARC has adapted continuously to support this evolution of care. Today, ARC supports its radiology clients with a combination of on-site and Teleradiology solutions. With the increased use of Teleradiology and other network-based systems, ARC has improved its services to both on- and off-campus clients. Teleradiology allows radiologists the ability to view images from multiple locations and for the most efficient distribution of images to sub-specialty radiologists for a timely response and report of findings.
